Telehealth Services
I will now be offering videoconferencing (often referred to as Telehealth) sessions to clients who are directly impacted by the COVID-19 virus. Medicare now permits clients who are at medical risk from the virus, in social isolation or have been diagnosed with Covid-19 to have psychological sessions through video-conferencing from their home. *Please see below for the eligibility requirements to access Telehealth services.
How To
When booking your appointment just advise me that you’d prefer to meet via videoconference as a “telehealth” service. We can then make the suitable arrangements to conduct the session through a program or app such as Whatsapp, Skype and Viber or on PC via Facetime (Apple PCs) or Facebook Messenger.
Eligibility for Telehealth sessions
Medicare defines individuals eligible for Telehealth as:
“Vulnerable and isolated clients are eligible to receive telehealth services provided by a psychologist if:
•the person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital; or
•the person has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or
•the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is:
oat least 70 years old; or
oat least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or
ois pregnant; or
ois a parent of a child under 12 months; or
ois already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or
•the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.”
